While walking in the woods one night along time ago (mid '60's) with my father, (we were out checking his animal traps) we saw an eerie greenish vapor moving silently through the woods. I was fairly young at the time, and thought that it was automaticaly a ghost. My father let me think this for a few minutes just to frighten me a little. Then he told me it was what they call a Wil-O the Wisp. Not sure that is how it is spelled, but it's how folks around here pronounce it. It turned out to be a common occurance, and it is a type of gas. Ever hear of this? Ever see it? It's really neat to see. But if you didn't know better, you'd think it was a ghost of some sort.

yeah, sort of... never seen it. some people also talk of non-human spirits that go by the same name (apparently they find it pleasurable for mortal eyes to see them, and to make trouble). There's a lot of ways to spell it... will-o-wisp, will of the wisp. I don't really know a lot about this, I'm gonna look into it.

I know it...It's definitely gas, I've stuck my hand through it. But hell yes, it is creepy.

I didn't feel much, really. I just felt a kind of faint vapor, like heavy mist.

You knew what it was before you put your hand into it right?

I hope so... well people do have a habit of touching things they don't recognize...
