On morning in my kithen, while tired, but wide awake, making a sandwhich and facing the dinning room, I saw the chair at one end of the table rocking around. I assumed a cat had launched off it and went into the room, the cats were both there and asleep. Later I'd realize the exciting paranormal thing I'd experinced.

And what do you think made the chair dance around? or maybe even Who?

John left (ghost with no apparent connection to our home) so I guess it was whoever scared him off.

How do you know John? And how did you learn his name?

Well, I met him at my house as a ghost, he never speaks, but can make a deal of noise kicking things, we call him John because he doesn't object. Me, my sister and her friend have all seen him. We had out house built so no modern people have lived here before, which doesn't explain his modern clothes... I guess he's just a wanderer... There are woods behind our house and darker spirits seem to dwell there, occasionally coming nearer the house.

Have you ever seen any of these other spirits? What makes you feel they are dark spirits? Is there a story about the woods? Something happen there to make you think they are dark? This is a good story. I want to hear more about John.

I know of no stories connected to the house or the wood that relate to specifically to hauntings. There was logging at one point and some sort of road or railway, higher up is some sort of nature perserve. We found a hunting hat on a stump in the woods, and we know there are cougars because one attacked a neighbor's goat.
I feel the spirits are dark because that is the arua/feeling they give off. John's is never like that. Most also appear dark, but thet doesn't really mean anything. I've mostly only seen shadow-like figures and a largeish white cat. Some one I once knew claimed parcial possesion by one, but they were often know to lie.
As for John, I first saw him after waking up one night. Here is where a skeptic instantly claims a fading dream. This didn't seem like that. I've had several fading dreams and bound in iron(sleep paraylsis) like experinces. When I first told someone she suggested this, and I went along with that till I saw/felt him again, I can't remmber which happened first. He was there for a long while, just standing. Almost like the living but somewhat transparent. He seemed to be wearing a sweat shirt and kakie pants. I've never seen him as clearly sense, but the feeling has always stayed the same. Like someone's there, and you know it's a friend, but you can't see anyone.

Thats very interesting. Maybe he is there to protect you from the dark ones. Maybe his presence keeps them away from your house. Maybe he is a victim of theirs even, and lost and doesn't know where he is or why. That would be sad. Did you ever try to send him on his way to where he might belong?

Well, I heard that if you except a huanting... don't freak out or run or anything they calm down or go away... that was easy, as nothing acturally scary happened, and it seemed to calmed down. Then I started to notice the darker things... So you theory might be right... I talked to him, but sense he doesn't talk back, I don't really know what he needs to be on his way... I don't even know that he wants to go, and he isn't bothering anyone so we're not in hurry to make him leave if he wants to stay.

Sounds like he is there for a reason, so I wouldn't want to send him away either.
