The following is a guide to the paranormal and crypto zoology. I will try to update, correct and add source information (I apologize for the lack of sources, I wrote a lot of this when I was younger and a lot of it long after seeing or reading source, if you know where information came from please inform me. I desire to give due credit. Much of this is common information, but I know that not all of it is and should like to have those sources.)

* Commonly believed phenomenon or creature in certain regions
** Commonly believed phenomenon or creature
*** Proven phenomenon or creature
Fairies (Sprites)
Fairies also known as sprites are the spirits and protectors of the forest. They often appearing as small humans with wings and make their homes in fairy rings, trees, hallowed out mushrooms or similar dwellings. Fairies turn destructive towards anyone who destroys their homes or the object/creature that they protect. Angry fairies have even been said to kill.

Fairy Guardians and Godparents
Fairy guardians and godparents are fairies, who by will, choice, vow, or pact, have attached them selves to a place or being. They will protect and guide their dependent and even grant it’s wishes if their brand of magic is that strong. However it is said that fairies only grant wishes to children.
Fairy Rings and Fairy Pools
Fairies often live in rings, which have delicate flowers such as violets or poisonous toadstools planted around the edges. If you step in a fairy ring you are their prisoner and there is only one way to break the spell, you must close your eyes and turn around three times while saying three silly senseless rhymes. Then you may with your eyes still closed step out. If you do not close your eyes you will kill the fairies. Do not eat a thing the fairies give you or not even the counter spell will save you, you will be trapped there forever.
Fairy pools work in much the same way, however the only way out is to win the fairy king’s favor. The entrance is often hidden by a whirlpool. Eating will also trap you here forever.
