This happened in August of 1984. On the second floor apartment above the camera shop in Wrightsville Pa. I worked 2nd shift then, and had gone to bed around midnight. I awoke as if someone just turned on a light. I was wide awake in an instant. And in an instant is all the longer it took me to notice a two foot long X 1 foot wide cocoon shaped dark blue mist hovering over me. This thing was beautiful. It looked like it had hundreds of electric blue stars twinkling in it. Like a tiny galaxy I thought. Well it was enough to startle me, even though it was very cool to see. I gasped, sucking in air(probably because I wasn't breathing) and when I did, I inhaled this thing. It shot right down my throat. Well I was paralized with fear of what had just happened, and I shook uncontrollably for a minute and then passed out. When I awoke I was scared that I had inhaled a ghost or something. I've heard they can hide in us. But I started reading Fate magazine, Body, Mind and Spirit Magazine etc... trying to figure out what had happened to me. Years later, about 1995, a friend of mine who is a Seer told me that I had had an out of body experience and swallowed myself because I didn't know how to get back into my body. Nothing strange ever happened to me like a body or mind take over, so I am inclined to believe this explaination. Anyone have any other ideas? I'd like to know about it. Or if you have experienced the same thing. A man once told me he could see Auras. He was the famous Ken Thompson, who illustrated alot of things for National Geographic. He told me my aura was the most beautiful blue he had ever seen, and mentioned the blue sparkles in it. He wanted to paint me, but had gone blind before he could do so. Sure wish we had an expert in here to discuss this. I have had astral projections before, but this was different in that I never woke up to get back into my body. The friend I mentioned, told me I was a "TRUE" Seer, because I could SEE the spirits, hear them, and feel them. She can only hear them and get certain feelings from them. But she is Genuine for sure. Oh, I should mention, this place I lived was once the funeral parlor, and they would prepare the bodies for burial on the second floor. Although I didn't know this before I had moved in. This is probably what scared me into thinking that it might have been a ghost. P.S. I told you I had alot of things to tell in here. All true too!!! And there is still more to tell.

Okay woah... that's a pretty strange event...
This sounds a little like S. P. (woke up, something odd happened, couldn't move, went back out.), but in the case it wasn't, I'm inclined not to believe the blue cacoon was your soul because you would have experinced this from it's prespective in most likely hood... but then as to what it was, I couldn'e tell you...
I once stayed awake for three weeks, I saw a real pretty silver cloud (in reality it was a curtain) then fell asleep/passed out.

Well thats why we need an expert to ask. Because if it wasn't me, then I'd like to know who or what it was. My mother and Father once experienced the cocoon shape. Theirs was white, and floated around in their bedroom one summer night back about 1968. We had a big house along the creek, (where the civil war soldier was seen) and this is where they saw it. It was a new house, and it floated to my Dad and went down and covered his face, (as he watched it) and then when it lifted from him he said his face stung. Then it went towards my Mother, and she yelled and it disappeared. Neither one of them knew the other was awake at the time. They had seperate beds, so they weren't quite side by side. Dad gave my mom heck for days for scaring it off. He wanted to see what it was doing, but mom said she wasn't letting that thing near her. lol I really would like to know what these misty cocoons are.

I've tried to find someone on line to talk to about this, but I don't know what to put in the subject line to look for any information on it. I tried several sites to no avail. Have any sugjestions?

hum... auras, ghosts, ghostly cacoons, incubus/succubus(I'm not sure that's spelled right, but these demons are another possiblity), old hag, ghost mists... Just try some stuff... books are a better resource though...

ok I have tried Ghosts, ghost cocoons, mists, spirit mists, auras, obe's (out of body experiences) I've read Fate magazine for years as well as body, mind and spirit mag. A seer once told me it was an obe and I woke up to see myself because I didn't know how to get back in my body. Wonder if I'll ever really find out.
I should have mentioned that I had a dream about my husband just prior to waking, who was living in California at the time. He was very ill and his mother thought the dr.s there were more advanced then back here in Pa., so he was there for treatment. I hadn't seen him in almost two years and longed terribly for him. I dreampt I was in his room and saw him sleeping. Thats why I thought it might have been an OBE in the first place. But it was probably just a dream. He died from his illness in 1991 after having a heart transplant on good friday the year before.

again obe involves not being inside your body, so you wouldn't have seen it from that point of veiw...
some things do stay mysteries, hopefully we can figure this out...

Well, I hope not, it's not cool at all... there is another possiblity: a spritual vampire, a person who's soul (or second soul, vampire soul if you will) take off to drain life force from others... it seems like a load of BS, but I didn't want to rule it out... did you feel extra refreshed that morning or extra tired?

I don't remember feeling any different than usual. Maybe a little bit un-nerved at what happened and not understanding what it was. And I agree with you, I think that is BS too. Imagine how many corpses they would find if there were such a thing? And how can a spirit drink your blood anyway? Why would they? They don't need it to sustain themselves. No, I think that is alot of crap there. Now I remember hearing about people who could be in two places at one time, awake, as they were going about their normal buisness in one place, while speaking to a mass of people in another part of the world. So how can the physical body be functioning at the same time as an astral projection? And how could those people see him like he was really there? I would almost need to take a class from a professional to have all my questions answered.

I doubt a being has entered your body with the intent to control. You would have felt something or acted oddly once by now.
I'm inclined to believe your friend if she is a Seer.
I personally believe that it may have been an enity or being, but not a malovent one. It's probably left you by now. Perhaps a randomly drifting soul, or lazy spirit.
EDIT:I'm baaack!

... Er, No, vampire spirits take life-force/arua, not blood...

Hey! Welcome back Shade! Well maybe you are right, a randomly drifting soul. But wouldn''t I have at least had a passing thought that was not my own? Maybe something that I would recognize as such? Do you think that it would just rest and not emit thought or anything? lol sorry Batmaster, am not so into the ghost vampires so I didn't know how it worked. But my life force is just fine.

I'm not into them either, it was just a suggestion of a possiblity that had come up a while back, this story just sounded more plausible for it than the orginal event when I'd first heard of them... and I can't say the source was the most reliable either... it could have never acturally entered you, an illusion of sorts... or it left prior to you waking again...
